College Captains

The Year 12 College Captains are the school’s representatives. Two College Captains and 2 College Vice Captains are elected by the Senior School Leadership Team. The Captains and Vice Captains perform several ceremonial and practical duties including attending the Governor of South Australia’s afternoon tea and being Masters of Ceremony at various events including the Year 12 Graduation.

Student Council/Voice

Members of the Student Council/Voice work with the Learner Agency Leader and the Principal to represent students’ perspectives and raise important issues, as well as work on school improvement projects as determined by themselves and their peers. Their role involves making important decisions and implementing positive change in our school. They meet at least twice a term with the Learner Agency Leader and present a student perspective to the school leadership team.

Peer Support Leaders

Peer Support Leaders are Year 9 students who want to support the transition of new Year 7 students and mentor them throughout their first semester of High School. Peer Support Leaders work closely with the Learner Agency Leader to plan activities and competitions for the Year 7s. Peer Support Leaders also visit their designated homegroup of Year 7s once a week to play games and get to know each other more. In addition, they create and host the REC Roadshow each year where they visit primary schools and deliver an interactive presentation of what high school looks like at REC.

Primary School Student Executive Council

The Primary School Student Executive Council empowers R-6 students by giving them a strong voice to raise issues and propose new ideas to primary leaders. Elected class representatives meet regularly to discuss concerns and work collaboratively with school leaders to improve the quality of school life in the primary school.

House Leaders

Student House Leaders represent their house and work closely with their House Leaders and Managers to plan activities for the house and improve house culture. Meetings are held in the lead up to sports day or interhouse competitions to help prepare for and plan the day. One Student House Leader is chosen per year level.

Sports Day Captains

The Sports Day Captains are selected for each House: Bates, Spence, Mawson, Rigney and Florey. The Sports Day Captains work with their House Leader in preparation for events such as sports day and can assist with other PE focused events and activities. They lead their respective houses in their team chant and sports day house meetings.

Arts Captains

The Arts Captains work with all Arts areas to organise and host events such as the Fringe@REC, Arts Week, Whole School Production/Showcase and other related events. They are Year 11/12 students selected by the Arts team for their dedication and interest in innovating their respective area. They play an integral role in building a strong culture of the Arts as future thinkers and to further the Academy program with new and improved initiatives.

Innovators Captains

The Innovators Captains are senior school students who represent the Innovators Academy and have an interest in STEM. They work with the Technology Leader in preparation for events such as STEM week and STEM competitions.
